TUBAHUMURIZE LAUNCHES A CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN TO BUILD THE FIRST WOMEN’S SHELTER IN RWANDA

As you probably know, all of your donations for produce from the Green & Gold Community Garden go to support the work of the Tubahumurize Association for socioeconomically marginalized women in Rwanda. At Tubahumurize, women receive counselling, vocational training, health education and micro-credit loans that allow them to start small businesses and support their families.

For many years, Jeanne Mwiliriza, the founder of Tubahumurize, has planned to build a women’s shelter for women who need a safe place to escape from domestic abuse. Currently, no such refuge exists in Rwanda. The fundraising campaign to support this work is now underway and we welcome your help to make this safe place a reality.

If you are looking for a meaningful way to celebrate your Mother this Mother’s Day please consider making a donation to support the Tubahumurize women’s shelter.
