Produce for September 3 and 7, 2019
Please note the change to our Tuesday evening market hours: open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
Reminder: The last orchard tour of the season will be on Saturday, September 7 at 1:00 p.m. (next door to the Garden). Gabe Botar will be leading a tour of the orchard that he developed over 25 years. Gabe retired in 2015 from the University of Alberta after 37 years as a Horticultural Technologist/Field Supervisor. He has extensive knowledge of horticulture, botany and specialized fields such as fruit production in cold climates. The orchard includes apricots, apples, cherries, currants, elderberries, grapes, haskap, pears, plums, raspberries, saskatoons and more – all grown using environmentally friendly methods. The orchard is a rare Edmonton resource demonstrating the types of fruit that can be grown in a cold climate.
This week’s markets are open:
Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Garden is located on the South Campus of the University of Alberta. Enter the University Farm off 60th Ave. Turn left at the T intersection (118th St) and you can’t miss it (we’re just across the road from the old barn). A map and further directions to the garden are available at: www.greengoldgarden.com
