Produce For October 16, 2021

by Oct 14, 20212021 Produce Update

As the end of season is near we have some vegetables available in larger, bulk quantities. We will also have elderberry syrup, pickled beans, and tomato paste from the garden produced by the wonderful Mojo Jojo Pickles.

Saturday markets will continue for the next week or two, weather permitting. (If it is really nasty weather we’ll move the market indoors to the big old barn across the road from the Garden.) Garden Market hours this week are:

Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

COVID Protocols Reminder: The pandemic has been difficult for all of us. The Green & Gold Community Garden is following current public health guidelines. For the safety of our volunteers and customers, we continue to encourage physical distancing and wearing masks. We want to make everyone feel welcome and safe at the garden!

Please note: There’s no custom picking by volunteers or self-serve at the kiosk again this year. Instead, we have a designated shopping area at the front of the garden. Please line up at the south end and a volunteer will help guide you through the shopping area filling a bag with the pre-picked/packaged produce you choose to buy. A cashier will be located at the north end of the shopping area.

For those of you who haven’t visited before, the Garden is located on the South Campus of the University of Alberta. Enter the University Farm off 60th Ave. Turn left at the T intersection (118th St) and you can’t miss it (we’re just across the road from the old barn). A map and further directions to the garden are available at: www.greengoldgarden.com/visit

See you at the Market!
